In early June Trio Luminoso, winners of Level B in this year’s competition, traveled with their parents and their coach, Thomas Rosenberg, to Mantua, Italy to participate in the Mantova Chamber Music Festival. On June 1, the fourteen-year olds performed before students from four schools in the famed Teatro Bibiena, where Mozart also performed at the age of fourteen. They attended a master class presented by pianist Alfred Brendel, and later performed in recital along with five other young ensembles in the Palazzo Ducale. Master of ceremonies at all performances was Remo Vinciguerra, renowned Italian jazz and classical pianist, teacher and author.
While at the festival, they ate in the Bistro, along with other musicians. At the end, they were presented with Certificates of Merit signed by Alfred Brendel and Artistic Director of the festival, Carlo Fabiano..
Congratulations Emily Kleiber, violin, Joseph Caswell, piano, and Andrea Wallick, cello. Well done!
